Prometheus is a news app that turns public prediction-market data into editorial stories. We collect as little as possible, never sell your data, and give you a one-tap way to delete everything. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

01 Information you provide

Signing in is optional — you can use Prometheus without an account by choosing “Skip for now.” If you do choose Sign in with Apple, we receive a stable Apple user identifier and the name and email address you agree to share. Apple lets you hide your real email and relay a private, anonymized address instead; that choice is yours.

We use this information only to save your followed topics and preferences to your account and to associate your subscription so it follows you across devices. We do not ask for a password — authentication is handled entirely by Apple.

02 Information collected automatically

  • Notifications. If you enable notifications, we store your device's push token and time zone so we can deliver breaking news and the Daily Digest at the right local time.
  • Preferences & followed topics. When you're signed in, your followed topics and app settings sync to your account so they're preserved across reinstalls and devices.
  • Story reactions. When you like or dislike a story, that reaction may be sent to our server to inform aggregate story ranking. The like/dislike history used to personalize your “For You” feed is stored only on your device.
  • On-device data. Your archived stories and personalization history live on your device and are not uploaded.

03 Subscriptions & payments

Prometheus Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payments are processed by Apple, and we use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and unlock premium features. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple handles all billing.

04 How we use your information

  • To deliver the notifications you opt into.
  • To operate subscriptions and premium access.
  • To diagnose problems and improve the app.

We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it to anyone.

05 How your information is shared

We share data only with the service providers needed to run Prometheus:

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store billing.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management.
  • Our hosting provider — runs the Prometheus backend that stores your account.

Story content is generated on our server and does not include your personal information. Market data is sourced from public feeds provided by Polymarket and Kalshi; Prometheus is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by them. Any third party with access to your data is contractually required to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

06 Tracking & advertising

Prometheus does not track you across other apps or websites, does not use the App Tracking Transparency prompt, includes no advertising SDKs, and uses no third-party analytics for advertising.

07 Retention, deletion & your choices

You are always in control of your data:

  • Delete your account. Open Profile → Account → Delete Account to permanently delete your account and all data saved to it. This erases your server record and revokes the Sign-in-with-Apple connection. This action cannot be undone.
  • Clear on-device data. Clear your like/dislike history and archived stories anytime from Settings → Privacy, or remove all local data by deleting the app.
  • Withdraw notification consent. Turn off notifications in the app or in iOS Settings at any time; we then stop sending pushes and remove your device token.

We retain account data for as long as your account exists and delete it promptly on your request. Data stored only on your device is never retained by us.

08 Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) for all data in transit, and we store authentication credentials in the device Keychain. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

09 Children

Prometheus is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10 International users

Prometheus is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed and stored there. By using the app you understand that your information will be handled as described in this policy.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

01 Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Prometheus, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”), which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the Apple EULA governs to the extent required by Apple.

02 What Prometheus is

Prometheus is an informational news product. It presents editorial stories built from publicly available prediction-market data. Probabilities shown throughout the app are implied by live market prices and represent collective trader sentiment — they are not predictions we endorse, guarantees of any outcome, or statements of fact about future events.

03 No wagering & no financial advice

Prometheus does not offer, facilitate, or accept bets, wagers, trades, or real-money gaming of any kind. You cannot place or fund any position through this app.

Nothing in Prometheus is financial, investment, legal, or betting advice. Prometheus is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Polymarket, Kalshi, or any exchange or brokerage. Market data may be inaccurate, delayed, or incomplete. Always do your own research before making any financial decision, and never rely on the app as your sole source of information.

04 Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use Prometheus. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are able to form a binding contract.

05 Your account

Accounts use Sign in with Apple. Creating an account is optional; some features work without one. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account and all of its associated data at any time from Profile → Account → Delete Account in the app.

06 Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

Prometheus Pro is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks premium features such as full articles and the Daily Glimpse. It is sold through Apple In-App Purchase, and the following terms apply:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price of the plan you selected.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region. If we change a subscription price, we'll give notice and, where required, ask for your consent before the change takes effect.

Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store's policies; we cannot directly issue refunds for App Store purchases.

07 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Misuse, disrupt, or interfere with the app or its infrastructure.
  • Attempt to access the app or its data in any unauthorized way, or reverse-engineer it except as permitted by law.
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Copy, resell, or redistribute the app's content except as expressly allowed.

08 Intellectual property

Prometheus, its editorial content, design, wordmark, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Apple EULA.

09 Disclaimers

Prometheus is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be accurate, complete, or current.

10 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or your reliance on any content in it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.

11 Changes to the service & terms

We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

12 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of Prometheus is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where local consumer-protection law grants you additional rights that cannot be waived.
